On 2 July 2011, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, President of Fidesz delivered a speech at the congress of his party.(1) A passage of his speech divulging the secret of the success of the Hungarian EU Presidency is a primary evidence of the Prime Minister's exceptional European commitment but also of his resoluteness:
"We have retaliated against the attacks imposed upon us. To the petulant grumblers of the European Parliament, we have unleashed some brain-twisters. A few resounding slaps in the face and a couple of friendly paddywhacks to the scruff of the neck have been doled. We performed our labour in a calm, relaxed and measured pace."
